The haunted lake house

It's creepy and it's kooky, mysterious and spooky......

....and it's my new dollhouse. Originally a "puzzle kit". I received it already put together from my friend Moriah. It was unfinished so I painted it inside and out and decorated it.

I'm giving you the grand tour today.....
You can click on the photos if you want to see them larger. Scroll slowly and watch for the interior....

Here is a before (kit can be purchased here)
 and after

Some close ups......

Wonder who lives in it?

Ugly witches, goblins, one-eyed monsters or 3-eyed monsters or maybe just GHOSTS.....
the feisty kind of course........

 Getting spookier by the minute....

Remember the movie "the Shining"?

Wonder whose skull is in the cage..... pretty creepy....
The signs are warning to keep out......

Are you sure you want to step in?

Warning, only adults accompanied by an under 10 are allowed inside......

Let's give a peek in...... see anything?
No?

OK let's hold hands and go in!!!

Ta-daaah!

ahhhhhhh......... those wacky lalaloopsy girls!!!!!!!
They sure like their privacy and know how to keep strangers away..... ;-)

Let's peek at the rooms from close

First floor, Crumbs and friends having tea and cooking

Second floor, 3 girls having a slumber party and Splatter messing up with paint as usual

Third floor Marina (my homonymous!) is having fun in the bathtub

Some more close ups and details

The hot pink mouse close to Splatter is the only non-lalaloopsy toy. It's made by my friend Karey

All chandeliers are made with beads.
Those lucite flower beads are awesome  and purchased from Litha Studios

The lala-girl in the back is standing on her chair! No manners required in lala-land

I made the clock for the bedroom

So....... I know this is a pukey oversickly sweetie sugary dollhouse interior but I have wanted to make a lalaloopsy dollhouse for a long time. I don't know why I am fascinated by these little dollies! They make me smile with their pink world.
This dollhouse idea is a bit like the Hansel and Gretel witch house but reversed. Spooky outside and cute inside instead of the other way around.
The lalaloopsy girls don't like intruders in their perfect little world!
:-)
Hope you enjoyed the tour!

Are you ready for Halloween?
I'm getting there.....

(Miniature) House swap anyone?

\
My latest addiction is making mini houses..... it won't last long though, just the time to fill a printer's drawer.
I want to fill it up and I would love to have some houses made by others too..... so if anyone wants to swap a mini house with me, I would love to!
I have a fix size limit though. I need houses that are no more than 1 inch wide and one deep. The height is no big issue as I have a whopping 4 inches which means that Towers are welcome :-)

If you're up for it, please email me (from my profile page or my website or flickr or etsy) or add a comment here with your email address for contact and we can arrange a "mi casa, tu casa" swap!  :-)

Most of my houses are made of Paperclay and painted with acrylics. They are made to look old and weathered like the houses in Italian or European villages.

It's a big tray and I have plenty of room left!!!
